Concept Development

Since 2008, there has been a strategic, sustainable cooperation between the Centre for Cross-Cultural Management (ZIM) of the Hochschule Bremen and Berlitz, one of the largest providers of language services and management seminars in the world.

The aim of the cooperation was the creation of systemic training materials by ZIM. The structured learning approach has several levels of competence which are based on “awareness of cultural differences”, “country-know-how” and “intercultural competence for individual management areas.”

The cooperation between ZIM and Berlitz offers consulting, training and accompanies implementations in intercultural management for businesses and organisations as well as special training for Berlitz sales representatives. The trainers are given a structured guide for a systematic and uniform teaching structure to ensure high quality training.

Concepts and participant materials have already been developed for all levels of competence. More country-specific approaches to the Arab world, China, India and the U.S. are currently in progress.
