Information for the candidates 2011
The Bremen diversity award “Create Diversity” was organised by the Hochchule Bremen together with a consortium and under the patronage of Mayor Jens Böhrnsen. The award is sponsored by local Bremen institutions and companies for the purpose of promoting the diversity in Bremen. Within the consortium, the areas of economics, academia, politics, educational institutions and arts / culture are represented.
Candidates
Potential candidates are businesses and organisations from the City of Bremen, which may include both medium-sized businesses, as well as administration of non-profit initiatives, from both the science and education sector and from the cultural scene.
Award
The award will be given to innovative initiatives, engagements and creative activities which support diversity within their organisation and promote or take on projects which make cultural diversity visible and contribute to the development of Bremen as an open-minded city. This can include nationality, ethnicity, gender, age as well as other diversity categories. It favors projects, measures and initiatives that recognise the value of diversity as a resource and promote it as a tool for the benefit of the company, the institution and its stakeholders, such as the city of Bremen. Assessed are both the strategic, conceptual objectives and the specific activities.
