The Centre for Intercultural Management (ZIM), founded in 1998 as a Institute of the Hochschule Bremen, deals with issues such as intercultural communication structures and diversity in international fields of work.

ZIM accomplishes training, research, and social and economic development through a transfer between theory and practice. Through the organisation of conferences, symposiums and publicity events, the ZIM creates a forum for the exchange between the Hochschule and the Bremen economy, between students, researchers and entrepreneurs and between science, art and media.

It is the networking of economic and cultural literature, and regional education studies at ZIM that opens up numerous perspectives on the conflicting theories of culture including intercultural competence with different knowledge teaching and learning cultures.

For companies and institutions that are confronted with diversity, ZIM has designed and organised an intercultural diversity training, but also country-specific advice to accompany ongoing or planned activities inside and outside Germany.

ZIM offers educational consulting and concept development in the areas of intercultural communication and competence and diversity and gender research.
